Now that Christmas is all boxed up and packed away it's time to really enjoy our Beautiful Australian Summer!! For me this means ... THE BEACH and THE GARDEN.
While I do try to get down to the beach for a couple of weeks I'm sure everyone understands its not always possible. So why not just enjoy your garden, plan out and start work on some of the projects you have been dreaming about all winter (like a veggie garden, an alfresco dining area, a potting bench or a quiet spot to read, or a little beach holiday feeling at home).
So what's on my To Do List?....
No 1. A Potting Bench

This was a lovely selection of items that would create a great potting table from Provincial Living.
However ...my Potting Bench came in the form of an old table found in the shed which does double duty as a shelter for my sons toys. I'm quite happy with the outcome, and the table already had this patchy distressed paint look.

No 2. A beach retreat
Some of my best childhood memories are of the beach or playing in the wading pool.

I really want to recreate that for my son....Well I can't really put in a pool.... just at the moment but the aim was to have somewhere for my son to splash around and enjoy the water and the outdoors.
A few gazebos, wading pools and a great kids tent from Nana for Christmas and the whole family has had a ball, even on the hottest of days!!!

Well...I'm off to the beach....will add some more of my summer projects when I return. So until then have a fun Australian Summer and enjoy your garden...
