Woodend - Day Trip No. 2. Childrens Park.....it's free

Get the kids out of the house and head to Woodend Childrens Park (see the weblink below). Just an hour or so from Melbourne it's a great spot for the kids to run wild and for mums and dads to relax on a picnic blanket! The main street has some lovely shops and there are plenty of places for lunch or dinner.

Make money and still have a life!!!!

For anyone that has ever said..."there has to be an easier way?" this is the book for you. The philosophy that we must work a 37.6 hour week according to our 'award' etc etc...which in reality is 60 plus hours a week if you want to keep your job is just rubbish and an Australianism and Western concept. Take a look at Tim Ferriss's website and be inspired. Outsource your work and find the multitude of ways to make money without putting in 60 hour weeks.

The KING of modern money making books would have to be Robert Kiyosaki the author of Rich Dad Poor Dad. If you have not read this. It is an absolute MUST!!!!!  It's all about working smarter NOT harder.

Now this is camping!!!!!!

Anyone that knows me knows that each year since birth I have been 'camping' down at the Mornington Peninsular (Safety Beach, Dromana, Sorrento, Blairgowrie)...now even with a 2yr old in tow it’s  an annual ritual for myself and my family. As I have gotten older my preference for Beach House rentals has surpassed my desire to camp, however this would change my mind.

Sight Seeing - It's free......Daytrip No 1. Waterford VA.....

When in the USA one of my most memorable experiences was getting lost and finding myself here...Waterford VA..Check out some of the links below. If you live in the Washington area you must go exploring. The countryside is breathtaking and the old homes even more so.

One of my favourite photos from 2003

Getting lost can be beautiful!

Get the Equestrian Country Manor look....

Take a look at Alkemie blog some great design and lifestyle pics and info. I thought this was an interesting take on an equestrian style fence..in Australia we usually only see them painted white, so if you want to give your garden that 'horse country' look this might be an alternative. Alkemie Blog (below) has a lot of great style ideas that can easily be replicated on a budget.

Why on earth do people waste money on GYM MEMBERSHIPS.........especially when their house needs cleaning?

Did you know that you burn 90 calories  per hour doing grocery shopping, 95 doing light house work, 115 playing with your dog, 120 playing with the kids, 225 vacuuming and scrubbing, 230 gardening.
Housework is what kept our ancestors fit...NOT GYMS...save your membership money and go on a luxury holiday with the money you save ...with your new body and you get a clean house, a beautiful garden and happy kids and pets  as part of the deal!!!!

Decorating the babies room? Keep an eye out for wall decals at discount stores and photo shops

Do not pay $100's for these things...shop around.....My $14 decal now gives Harry hours of entertainment. Place it near the cot so they can talk to the animals...

Sarah Richardson - Sarahs House - truly inspiring interior designer

"Sarahs House and Sarah 101"  I'm addicted!!!! Sarah Richardson guts and decorates homes with fearless abandon! She has turned shopping in 2nd hand stores into an art form. Many of her best features are old pieces of furniture repurposed (as she calls it). A lick of paint and a bit of upholstery and they add so much character. Get inspired go to her website  Sarah Richardson.    Also here are a great selection of her work online. Break out the paint brush and rid the world of brown wood panels....

For the cost of some sandpaper, primer and some nice antique white low sheen paint you can turn 80's wood panelling...eeek! into cool modern provincial style!
